The town of Tiel is ten kilometres away and is the starting point for a wonderful tour of the surrounding orchards in full blossom. You can also stroll along river banks or on centuries old dikes. Many excellent walking routes wander through the beautiful scenery around the banks of the River Waal. You can use the ferry boat for cyclists and pedestrians between the villages of Varik and Heerewaarden during the summer months.
