Shoppers will find a good variety of fresh local fruit and vegetables at these producer's only markets, as well as baked goods, prepared foods and beverages, naturally raised meats, free range eggs, flowers and plants, more. (Products vary some per market.) The City Farmers' Markets take place in 4 other areas besides the nicely shaded site at Wooster Square that runs on Saturdays from 9 am until 1 pm from the beginning of May until mid-December: The Edgewood Park market is at the corner of Whalley and W Rock Avenues on Sundays from the beginning of June until mid-November from 10 am until 2 pm. The Downtown market is located on Church Street at the Green and runs on Wednesdays from mid-June until mid-November from 11 am until 3 pm. The Fair Haven market sets along the river at Quinnipiac River Park at Front Street and Grand Avenue and runs on Thursday from the beginning of July until the end of October from 3 pm until 7 pm. The Hill market is located at the Connecticut Mental Health Center at Park and South Streets and runs from the beginning of July until almost the end of September from 12 pm until 4 pm. All the markets accept WIC and Senior FM Nutrition Program coupons, WIC Fresh Fruit and Vegetable checks, and EBT/SNAP.
