A living history park, there are costumed docents bringing to life the history of the area and the importance of the outpost here in protecting the copper resources, and they are also home to one of the first lighthouses on Lake Superior. There are 159 sites with modern facilities, showers, picnic tables, grills, and dump stations. This campground is closed during the off-season. There are no water hookups at the campgrounds.
